Dating back to Florence, Italy in 1402, a group of architects was challenged to create the greatest structural feat of its day — building and lifting the massive cupola, or “Il Duomo,” to the top of Florence’s cathedral. This project had been stalled for years as the technology did not yet exist to execute such a massive and unusual design. The invention of the “argano”, a specialized hoist that could move objects in multiple directions, heights, and speeds, was key to unlocking progress and transforming a seemingly impossible project into reality. 

Then as now, the greatest visions could not be realized without first reimagining the tools and techniques needed. Faced with immense pressure to keep up with ever-evolving consumer demands, companies today are tasked with solving complex challenges by being innovative and agile. Yet, many are stretched to the limit by operating environments not built to support these changing demands.
